Education

I am currently a fifth year PhD candidate at The Graduate Center, CUNY in the Critical Social/Personality Psychology Program where I am co-advised by Dr. Michelle Fine and Dr. Dana-Ain Davis. I’m currently working on my dissertation, tentatively titled “An examination of Black birthing people’s experiences with ART.”

Advanced Certificate in Women Studies was awarded in 2023 from The Center for the Study of Women and Society at The Graduate Center

On May 2018, received my Masters of Arts in Psychology from The New School for Social Research where I was advised by Dr. Lisa Rubin
Work
I have over 15 years of professional working experience both within and outside of academic settings. Here are some of my more recent roles.

I am currently the Research Project Coordinator for the VIBE Research Lab at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

From 2021-2023 I was the Clinical Research Coordinator, working under the direction of Dr. Teresa Janevic, in the Dept. of Population Health Science and Policy at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

From 2018-2021 I was a Training Specialist, II for the Comskil Lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Awards

$10,000 was awarded to support my dissertation research and tuition support for my dissertation year.

$4,000 was awarded to carry out research during the summer of 2024. Funds from this award was used towards my dissertation research.

$632 was awarded in 2024 for confererce travel from CUNY The Graduate Center’s Department of Psychology

Awarded $1,420 to conduct research from CUNY The Graduate Center’s Doctoral Student Research Grant

$500 was awarded by the Society of Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology. This award was use to fund my second doctoral exam research. Thanks to this funding I was able complete this research, which was published in PWQ.
Service
Being of service to my academic and scholar community is important to me. Below are some of the many positions I’ve held during my time as a PhD student and candidate.

From 2023 to 2024, I served as a member of the Psychology of Women Quarterly’s Student Advisory Board. As a member of the SAB I was trained in being a peer-reviewer and gained insight to the publication process of a highly regarded academic journal.

During the 2022-2023 academic year, I was a student member on my programs admissions committee for the 2023-2024 incoming cohort.

From 2019-2022, I was a member of my program’s Colloquia Committee and helped planned our weekly guest speakers, workshops, panels, and other scholarly events. During my final year, 2021-2022, I served as Student Chair of the committee.

From 2021-2022 I served on the CSP Executive Committee. As a student member, assisted in overseeing program functions by planning and trouble shooting current and pending issues.
